News: During June 2003 Ameriteak management visited Plantation One to view forestry operations and thinning opertations. Continued drainage and site improvements have been made in the first half of 2003 as well.

During February through June 2003, a sanitary thinning was implemented to remove the weaker trees and allow more sun and nutrients for the stronger more productive trees. While normal industry practice dictates the scrapping of such trees, the prolific growth of Plantation One trees has enabled the Plantation Manager to secure a buyer for much of the thinned trees. As a result, the first truckload of trees sold left the farm in late June 2003.
